Works For Me Wednesday- Windows Calendar

On a day to day basis I have all sorts of brilliant blog ideas running through my head. Sometimes while something is happening I will start writing in my head as it is happening. Oh yeah, that means I am sometimes thinking about writing something about you when I am with you. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Yet often times by the time I sit down to write a blog post, poof, all brilliance disappears (this actually happens in a whole host of ways throughout the day, brilliance = poof). Funny how that happens.

So I noticed that my computer had a program on it called Windows Calendar. Very similar to Microsoft Outlook if you have that. Anyway, when I have and idea, I schedule it. This is super helpful with product reviews so I remember to do them. Not that I ever forget to do them, potential marketers sending me kick butt products. I am an excellent reviewer!!

Do you use anything to help you post? Or any tips for retaining brain cells cause my are disappearing rapidly?

  3. My ideas for blog posts also seem to disappear when I need them. I like the idea of having somewhere to lay them out. I used to keep a running list, but I need more than that. I’ve thought about starting a little blogging planner.

  4. I call my desk and leave voicemails. That way when I listen to my voicemails I can type out the idea on the computer. I keep posts in a “draft” form until I’m ready to post them.

What a great idea! I have been trying to remember ideas and sometimes have written down on sheet of paper (acck! where is that paper?!) Yours sounds like an even better idea though. :D

  6. Oooh, I’m going searching! I love me a calendar!!

  7. I will have to check out Windows Calendar. I discovered Google Calendar about a month ago and I LOVE it. My husband can log into at work and see what is on the family calendar. Plus, it lets you look at two calendars overlapped or separately (for example, I have a dinner calendar and activity calendar). I can see the both on one calendar view or I can select not to see the meals, etc. It’s awesome, too.

For blog posts, I usually just end up sending myself an email or something or jot it down in a small notebook in my bag if I am out and about.

I just read and amazing book called Getting It Together from the Effective Edge website. My life is extremely busy with family, church, a full time job plus whatever else God brings into my day. I have just started using these techniques this week and already I can see a diffrence. http://www.effectiveedge.com/

  9. This is a great idea. I’ll have to check it out. I’ve totally mentally written a blog post as the event was happening. And totally let it go “poof” b/c I didn’t write it down right away. Ugh.
