Works For Me Wednesday- Emma's Inspiration (GIVEAWAY!!)

wfmw It’s every mother’s worst fears. Or one of many. Your sleep deprived, your overwhelmed, your running late, your distracted. It is a hot summer day. You feel like you are forgetting something. Then you realize, you have forgotten. You have forgotten your child in your hot car.

Every time I have saw news reports of this happening, I so quickly jumped to judgement. Especially before I had kids. What kind of mother would forget her own child? And then I had kids. And life got crazy. And although I haven’t left my kid in a hot car, the mistakes I have made as a mom are long. Forgetting to snap a car seat before I got on the expressway in Chicago. Losing track of my daughter at the zoo because I was talking with the mommies. Well, the list is long.

Emma’s Inspirations was born out of a near miss situation by a family who made a simple distracted mistake and almost lost their daughter who was left unattended for 45 minutes in a hot car. Thankfully, their daughter was unharmed. But they wanted to make sure that other parents didn’t suffer a similar scare. Emma’s Inspirations offers brand new car window decals. They are static cling ‘stickers‘ that provide a simple reminder to the driver, that your child could still be in the back seat. Each kit comes with six decals that adhere to the inside of the windows facing out. They are designed to place on the driver, passenger and rear door windows.

These are just a simple reminder to check all the car seats before you leave the car. Such an quick step that could literally be the difference between life and death. I get to promote a lot of cool products on this blog, but I love the simplicity of this one that can make such a big difference. Oh and if you don’t have children, they also make them for pets.

Emma’s Inspirations would like to give away a set of decals to one of my readers. To enter, please head over to their site and let me know in the comments what your favorite feature about the product is. For extra entries (you MUST leave a separate comment for each entry):

  1. Ellie says:

I like that the size is big enough to notice, but not so big that it gets in the way.

  2. I have never heard of these decals but what a great idea. It is so easy to get distracted. I think these would be especially good for babysitters or grandparents that don’t typically have a kid in the car. I like that the decals are affordable and that they face the inside of the car. Thanks!

  5. This story reminds me of one I heard the other day about a relative of mine with 3 boys. Mom & dad were chatting with grandma & grandpa a bit when grandma decided to check on them. She found the kiddos in the kitchen. The littlest was IN THE MICROWAVE with the door closed and another was pushing buttons. Praise God he had hit the timer button first so none of the cooking buttons were working. But, oh my stars, give me a heart attack just thinking about it!

It’s amazing how quick and accidentally something can happen. I often wonder how often we have “near misses,” spared by the grace of God, and we have no idea. I bet it happens a lot more than we think.

  6. This kind of thing happens pretty often here in Phoenix–cars heat up sooo fast! I think it’s a great idea and I’d love to win, something to help us frazzled moms keep our focus amidst the day-to-day craziness.

  7. These are cute, and I like that they are static cling, rather than a sticker. It’s also great that they are making them for pets as well…I see so many animals left in the car!
