Toilet Humor At Its Best (aka Poopy Poop Poop)

toilet Well my girls have discovered the humor in the word poop. Classy. I can’t imagine where they got it from considering my hubby sometimes considers sophisticated humor watching someone get hit in the balls on America’s Funniest Home Videos. And since this is my blog, I can just pretend that I am always classy and leave it at that.

So lately I have had to listen incessantly to the word poop being inserted into nearly every sentence. And then the girls dissolve into fits of giggles. All. day. long. It sounds something like this. “Mommy can we have some poopy?” Giggle. “Hannah, you have some poopy poop.” Giggles. Seriously??

Isn’t the benefit of having girls that you don’t have to go through this kind of stuff. Sure we have to shell out a bundle of cash for a few weddings, but the potty humor is avoided. Nope. My girls laugh when they fart, talk about poop, and giggle when they burp. Does this mean I get out of teenage drama and hormones? There has got to be a trade off!!

  1. Umm, I am almost 30 and while I pretend to be classy and mortified by potty humor, inside I am dissolving into a pile of giggly goo. I just find it funny! Especially when said by darling little cherubs that can barely get the words out before the giggles overtake them. Ask me when my now one year old daughter is doing it…I am sure I will have changed my tune! Of course, I also think people running into things is funny.

  2. LOL!!
Sorry, I really doubt this means you’ll get out of the teenage girl hormones and drama (though as a sister of many boys, I can say that the girls aren’t the only ones with hormones and drama. But don’t ask my bros for their opinions!)
    thanks for the laugh

  3. HA! I hate to tell you this but I’m almost 29 and me and my sister still fall into fits of giggles and almost had to be kicked out of the dinner table..lol..and sometimes those giggles are over good old Fart humor! So good luck!

  4. We are definitely going through the poop humor phase at our house right now. My boys are always trying to “one-up” each other with their poop jokes…it’s so funny!

  5. Ok, my sis and I are guilty of this. At least we used to be. Now we are more classy (burrrrp) Excuse me.
My dad would be so upset, especially at the table.
He always said he’d never get us married off.
Turns out husbands find it funny too. Who knew?

  6. I’ve been lucky, my boys KNOW I don’t find that kind of humor funny & my girls seem to have inherited my sense of humor (or lack of one as Hubby would say)

Sounds like you are enjoying it though…maybe you will get lucky & miss out on the DRAMA.

  7. Unfortunately, I think potty humor is quite hilarious. The superbowl ‘cutting the cheese’ commercial? Laughed until I cried.

  8. for my kids it’s the word “diaper” and “underwear”. what is it with that part of the body that’s so absolutely hilarious? :)

  9. Potty humor is just…humorous. I have two girls and they can let loose the most amazing motorboat sounds out of their derrières – usually at the dinner table. How can I not laugh? I’ve given up on raising classy ladies.

  10. Sorry to burst your bubble, but w/ 3 girls we get the potty humor AND girly drama. I think they pick up the whole potty stuff from school because ‘fart’ is not a word we use. (It’s always sounded way more gross than ‘poot’ to me.) Anyways, Girly Drama + Potty Humor (complete with armpit poots) = The Alexander house is always interesting!

  11. LOL…has to be the husband’s fault…at least in my household it is. My hubby will say (or do) something related to potty stuff and the boys will absolutely crack up…and now my little princess joins in on the raucous laughter!

  12. LOL No escape huh? I’m sure to hit there pretty soon. My DH loves to laugh at childish things so it will probably be pretty bad at my house. Kids love to please their parents (and he is hard to please) so they go wild with it… which drives me insane because I don’t want that behavior encouraged! and, I’m the one with them all day and get to hear it….

  13. Umm, I still think “poop” is funny. Just the word, though, not the actual stuff. I’m not sure potty humor knows any gender boundaries these days! :)
