Things That Confuse Me

  • Why a man who appears to have it all including a hot wife and young children has, what are we up to, five (?) women on the side. Praying my children never look up to anyone besides God himself. Ugh.
  • How is it possible that someone has made a Christmas song with explicit lyrics???? Oh wait, it was written by Billy Bob Thorton. Perhaps, he should stick to acting and obscene red carpet displays.
  • I never talk politics on this blog. Well barely ever, but don’t you think if some high society, reality TV wannabes snuck into the White House on Bush’s watch, the media would call for his head!!
  • How it takes weeks to lose one measly pound, but one meal of burger and fries to put two back on.
  • Why my newborn, who is honestly one of the easiest babies, can go for long stretches during the day between feedings, but wants to eat every two hours at night. Against my will I am turning into a co-sleeper. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It is just not how I want to be spending my sleeping hours. Good thing he is so freakin’ cute.
  • Why knowing the above face I still can’t seem to get my butt in bed before 11:30 every night.

And with that, it is 11 and I am, as you can see, not in bed. Ugh. Maybe tonight will be the night he sleeps……

  1. I’m sure there’s a good post (or book!) about “things we said we would never do before we had children that we are now doing and not feeling guilty for” – I have my own list that’s pretty long. :) i actually wish Z would have ever co-slept – she’s not that kind of baby. maybe #2??

  2. hahaha great post…totally true political statement…if bush did even 1/3 what our current president did he’d be demolished by the media….as for co sleeping no one could blame you..try to remember that you have such a wonderful baby! As for #1…he’s and idoiot!!!! I feel sorry for his children..he’s embarrassed them all!

  3. This is hysterical.

Don’t even get me started on #1. UGH! Horrible and upsetting.

As you know, I co-slept. It was survival tactics with 2 other kids running around.

And, I stay up way too late, too. It’s a definite problem in the am.

  4. Wow- he’s up to 5 now. I’ve missed a few days of the news.

I totally agree about the Bush thing- it would have been a totally different story if it had been under his tenure.

  7. I’m not one for giving unsolicited advice, but someone once told me with my second (thank GOD) that they will be hungrier at night when you don’t feed them as much during the day. I tried switching that around and attempted to feed more often during the day (he would ALWAYS take it!) and my second slept through at 10 weeks. My third did at 11 weeks.

Here’s to sleep! There’s nothing like it. :)
