Things I Love Thursday- Oxiclean

TILT There is nothing I hate more than pulling clothes out of the dryer only to discover a big ole stain sitting on it. I am really bad at catching stains before they go in. My kids throw their stuff down the laundry chute and unless I go through them all before I throw them in the wash, they are missed more often than not. Possibly because the pile is so big and overwhelming, I just throw it in and run before it multiplies.

Most people know that OxiClean is fabulous for getting out stains. We know because Billy Mayes told us so. And Billy Mayes never lies (we will just pretend he didn’t have a little problem with another white powder, so sad). In all seriousness, this stuff is really quite good at getting stains out. Sometimes even set stains. So I was really excited when they decided to come out with a few new products that make life easier for those of us who aren’t so on top of the laundry.

First, the Max Force Power Packs. Little packs of something fabulous that you throw in the wash with your detergent. I don’t use them with every single load, but typically if there are a lot of kid’s clothes in one, I throw it in. I really honestly feel that it is helping. Or maybe my kids are getting less messy. Which is highly unlikely.

They are also releasing a new stain stick to fight the toughest stains. Which would require me to notice a stain before throwing it in the wash. Which I clearly don’t. I suppose I could stain something and try it to see, but that seems very door to door salesman doesn’t it. And I am pretty sure there is a nasty stain in my future so I am looking forward to trying it. And it is a gel and I have a thing for products in gel form. I cannot explain that last sentence at all.

These two little life savers won’t be in stores until mid-February 2010, which is frankly quite soon and also really freakish since I am pretty sure just yesterday I was graduating from college. Alas, my crows feet tell a different story. Perhaps one of you could love some sort of product that will take my face back to a less wrinkly time and post about it for TILT. I would be ever so grateful.

Which brings me to you (see how I did that?). What do you love this week? Get your Things I Love Thursday tips and link up below. Please, please, please give a little shout out back to this carnival if you are participating. Thank you in advance. And if you are at Blissdom this weekend, come track me down. I would love to meet some of my TILT regulars. I will be the one with the super cute baby :)

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of OxiClean and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

  1. OxiClean is great! In college, I had a roommate who sat in, he-hem, something nasty. I had some OxiClean, and we soaked her outfit. It washed out, just like Billy said it would. :0) Great post!

  2. I’m actually kind of excited to hear about this! I switched to cloth diapers about a month ago, so suddenly I am way more interested in laundry.

Andone bonus you forgot to mention — oxiclean is OXYGEN bleach (as opposed to chlorine bleach) which is way better for the environment, so using these new products will be totally in line with your goal of going green whenever possible!

Wow, I just re-read that comment and I sound like some crunchy granola mom tree-hugger person, talking about cloth diapers and going green. I’m not. You know that, right? I’m not That Mom, I promise.

    I’m just cheap. :)

I love oxiclean and use TONS of it…I’m looking forward to trying the new products!

  4. We do a load of just kids laundry, since it usually needs that kind of care.
Plus, it is just a tiny bit easier to sort.

  5. I do love oxyclean too! It once got set-in nail polish out of my husband’s dress pants! (Note to self: do not paint toenails in a moving car.)
