Things I Love Thursday- Method (Plus a GIVEAWAY!!)

TILT I have spoken many times about my unhealthy addiction to wipes. No, not the adult, use on your buns type I talked about last week (although I am totally addicted to those, what is it with me and the wipes?). I am talking about wipes of the cleaning variety. But I harbor a lot of guilt when I use them. It doesn’t really stop me from using them because unfortunately I am really, really good at pressing through the guilt. And really, really, really lazy when it comes to cleaning. Hence the wipes.

I have been a fan of Method for a long time. Honestly the reason why is I love the way their products look. I am a sucker for good design. But also because they are affordable and easy to find at the mothership, I mean Target. And because they actually clean. I hate it when you buy “earthy” cleaning products and they don’t clean. And sadly I have found that it happens a lot. Which is why I frequently fall back on bleach.

imageBut Method’s new botanical antibacterial products kill germs without bleach or triclosan. In fact, Method has partnered with CleanWell Company to create a patented botanical formula that kills 99.99 percent of household bacteria including E.coli, salmonella enterica, influenza A and H1N1 virus on hard, non-porous surfaces. Just in time for flu season!! I am hoping it also works on bed bugs. Cause what is up with those things? Freaky. Thankfully they are not in Michigan, but is it just me or does everyone else’s bed suddenly make the itch?

The new line consists of antibacterial kitchen cleaning spray in lemon verbena, antibacterial bathroom cleaning spray in spearmint, all purpose cleaning and disinfecting wipes in lemon verbena. I have to be honest, I don’t completely dig the lemon verbena scent. Oddly enough I don’t mind the smell of bleach though so maybe it is me with the issue, not Method.

In short, the products ACTUALLY clean, ACTUALLY kill germs and I don’t have to stress about using them. Also, they are affordable, easy to find give me an excuse to go to Target. Seriously, I am in love. Love.

Would you like to try Method’s new antibacterial products? They have assembled a “flu kit” with great products to help you avoid the germies this winter. To win, leave a comment telling me which of Method’s products you would most like to try. Or if you are already a fan, what is your favorite product. I always love to try something new.

For extra entries (leave a separate entry for each):

Also there is a great upcoming Twitter party will be November 17th from 10pm-11pm EST, facilitated by @thesmartmama using the hashtag #ecowed. There will be good discussion and a lot of great prizes so make sure to join in.

Method sent products to facilitate my review as part of the Mom Go Green Blog Tours.

What are you loving this week? I would love for you to join our little carnival and it is so easy to do so. Just write a blog post about something (anything) you love and link up below. 1. Great giveaway! I love the multipurpose cleaner, I love those things! Thanks!

  2. I’d love to try the foaming hand wash in french lavender. Ooooo la la!

  3. Oh, MAN! I love method too. You can also find them at Lowe’s (though definitely not as fun to shop there, fo sho.) My all time fav is the green cucumber multi-purpose cleaner, but I use everything–the toilet bowl cleaner, the shower cleaner (it has a little grit in it, so it really does a number on soap scum and smells awesome! No fumes), the glass cleaner. It’s all great!

    Thanks for another great giveaway!

  21. I really like the unscented hand soap and laundry detergent from Method that have been nice for our sensitive skin. But I am interested in trying the flu season products which I did not know about!

I love the Best in Glass cleaner, but I’m excited to try these out. I also love the Free and Clear laundry detergent, especially in the rockin’ new pump bottle. I get your RSS feed. Now off to Facebook!

  23. I love this GIveaway! I use lots of Method stuff. I like their free and clear stuff and I can tell you that their Dishwashing liquid soap was top-rated by Consumer Reports (out of green and non-green dish soaps). It’s a little pricier, but highly concentrated, and I love the pump dispenser.
