Things I Love Thursday- Kleenex Anti-Viral (And A Giveaway!!)

tilt  With a new baby on the way and the kids back in school, we are trying to be more vigilant about keeping healthy around here. Which is a bit of a challenge when their wiping skills are questionable and they usually forget to use soap. The only encouraging thing is that they love hand sanitizer so much that they would bathe in it if they could.

In all seriousness, I am trying not to give into the Swine Flu hysteria, but I do feel like we need to be extra careful with a new little one coming. So we are trying to ramp up the hand washing, attempting (poorly) to get enough sleep and grabbing our multi-vitamins. Another line in our defense, Kleenex Anti-Viral. Unlike other tissues, this one has a middle layer that contains ingredients that kill 99.9% of cold and flu viruses. Now I just have to get my kids to actually throw them in the garbage so that the germs aren’t sitting around our house.

Would you like to try some Kleenex Anti-Viral tissues? Well Kleenex is offering one lucky reader Kleenex Anti-Viral Tissues as well as a $50 Visa Gift Card. Maybe to put towards some masks and rubber gloves for when you go out on the town? You have several chances to win.

  1. MANDATORY:  Leave a comment below telling me how you plan on Battling the Bug this season or check out www.battlethebug.com.

  1. I’m a nursing student, so we’re told constantly to wash, wash, wash our hands. I have become much more intentional about this, and I tell my 2 yo to wash as well. He pushes the little chair over to the sink and gets all soaped up!

I have already gotten sick this season! Fall has come early to West Michigan!! I would love to try the anti-viral Kleenex in hopes it would stop me from contaminating the rest of the family and friends that visit. No matter how hard you try to ward off the germs from colds, they always seem to find a way back to get someone else!!
I hope that I am fortunate enough to win!
Thanks for this great opportunity to try out a new product! I use Kleenex products mostly in my home already!

Well so far every year we do the whole flu shot thing. Seems to work for us but I am really working with my kids this year on hand washing. You can never be to careful.

I’m also expecting, so the concern of being in the third trimester during the start of flu season and the effect that there appears to be on pregnant women has made me a little more cautious that usual about the flu this year. I am making sure I wipe down carts with sanitizing wipes when we go out and I’m planning to use a wrap to carry the baby once he or she is born so that there will be less chance for well meaning people to share germs.

I told her that was alright keep it up. Its better to be safe than sorry.

  45. Ever since having our extremely premature daughter (born at 24 weeks), we have been hyper-vigilant hand washers. I don’t really go in for shots or lots of antibacterial hand things… just soap and water. It’s worked so far- we’re a very healthy bunch! (Oh, and my other defense is staying home with my kids- the ped confirms that kids with SAHM’s tend to get sick less often than those in daycare.)

  51. I am in no way a germaphobe…and am not the best at always washing my hands (of course I do when I go to the bathroom) but with all the swine flu talk I have been better. 1 way that helps me is to keep antibacterial hand soap by the sink so that I just dump it on my hands, rub it together and go on with my day. Sometimes washing them just seems like a chore! I also keep a little bottle in my purse and try to remember to use it!

The only thing we’re doing around here to avoid the flu is what we always do (well, me anyway)–wash our hands with soap and water frequently.

I received a life-saving liver transplant in May. Praise the Lord! Anyway, because of anti-rejection medication that I must take for the rest of my life, I am not immuno compromised. I must be extremely careful about avoiding illnesses such as this. I use antibacterial hand gel, and always have antibacterial handwipes in my purse/diaper bag for cleaning grocery carts, things that fall on the ground, etc. I wash my hands all the time. I purchase anti-viral tissues. I plan to get the flu shot, both the regular one,a nd the swine flu shot when it comes out. And I encourage my 3 little ones to keep themselves germ-free too.

  155. Stephanie says:

We are battling the bug this season with homeopathics. I have a flu/cold mist spray that I bought via cellutox. Also, we are taking vitamin D3 daily, probiotics, and rotating other immune boosters like echinachea and C, etc. Olive Leaf, Oregano Oil, and Grapefriuit seed Extract are always on hand in emergencies.

Plenty of sleep always helps, in addition to clean hands and work surfaces. My husband seems to get sick every time a cold virus comes around, and the only thing that really helps him is getting lots of rest. He usually gets very little sleep, which I think is why he’s always sick!
