Things I Love Thursday- Johnson's No More Tears

tilt So last week I got a call from my brother and sister in law that brought back such memories. They are expecting their first baby this summer and were in the dreaded Babies R Us trying to register (Babies R Us people, you are lovely, but the registry process made me break out in hives). Registering for a wedding was so much fun, but registering for a baby is completely overwhelming. They called me in a panic from the bottle aisle. Cause you know you need them, but there are 427 kinds to choose from and when you are expecting your first, you feel as though this decision could be the difference between Harvard and a lifetime flippin’ burgers.

But, I don’t know about you, there was something comforting about using Johnson’s products on my new baby. To me Johnson’s just equaled baby. To me, that pink lotion defines baby smell. And there is just something reassuring about the “No More Tears” label. Cause that first bath is more nerve wracking than the registering. There is the umbilical stump, the screaming baby and the anxiety that you probably registered for the wrong baby bathtub.

Did you know that this year marks the 50th Anniversary of Johnson’s No More Tear formula? Actually, if you did know that, I would be a little disturbed cause your brain would be filled with even more useless trivia than mine is. Well, the lovely people over at Mom Central sent me some new Johnson’s products to review. Johnson’s Head-To-Toe Foaming Wash and Johnson’s Baby Bubble Bath & Wash both lived up to the Johnson’s reputation. And can I just say, I love foaming anything. I don’t know what it is, but my kids have inherited the foam gene and have been having fun using far too much of that soap at bath time.

Johnson’s has also developed a baby channel on You Tube to provide advice to parents from baby experts. You can also upload pics of you and your own baby bonding moments or advice you have for other moms. Does that make anyone else want to upload really inappropriate new mom advice just to mess with people? No? Well, me neither!! What kind of person would do that? Ahem….

What do you love? Mr. Linky wants to know. Please remember to link directly to your Things I Love Thursday post so it is easy for other readers to find you. For some more guidelines, head over here. I am so excited about how our little blog carnival has grown. Keep spreading the word!!

Your post cracked me up about registering, especially the baby bottles. I think I had those same feelings of what would happen if I chose the wrong one!

  4. Oh I love Johnson’s. Big Brother (now four and a half) still uses their no more tears shampoo. Plus, he has eczema and they make a really great moisturizing body wash that he uses.
We did not have the first baby registry anxiety. But that is because I had been doing round the clock daycare (is it still daycare at 3am) for years. We thought we knew it all and were so excited to be having one of our own. We did not know it all but we still loving having our babies. :)

  5. Love me some No More Tears in the bath! Love to smell Buggie when she gets out of the bath!

  6. I work at a pediatric hospital and we have Johnsons everything for babies! In case any moms were wondering if its good enough for the baby hospital its good enough for me. BTW Johnsons also promotes nursing and getting kids interested in other science related jobs with awareness commercials and other community projects. So not only do they work well on baby but they promote the knowledge and well-being of your child too!

  7. I love snuggling with a freshly bathed baby that smells like Johnson’s. My youngest has really dry skin though and Johnson’s seems to make it worse, so I use Aveeno. It’s just not the same.
