The First War Wound

ella-eye.jpg With first steps comes first injuries. Our 1 year old went head first into the side of the tub yesterday. She had a pretty deep gash so we took her into the doctor. The good news: it was a “clean” cut and easy to fix. Bad news: the fix is gluing it shut which wouldn’t have been that bad if we weren’t dealing with a squirmy baby. So in addition to her wound, her eyelid is a little glued. Thankfully, it should come off in 1-2 weeks. Yes, 1-2 weeks of looking like this. Thank God I already got her 1 year old pictures.

  1. Bless her heart! I’m sure that required a lot of TLC. Both of my girls seem to have gotten more than their fair share of battle wounds over the past 8 years. You just bandage them up and send them back out to fight the good fight!

I am glad it was a clean cut… but still… couldn’t have been fun for her!!

  18. Aww poor baby! I hope that she feels better soon. Both of my boys have perpetually scraped knees and they are pretty good walkers.

  19. awwwww little sweetie! War wounds come with growing up, but doesn’t make them any easier to deal with :(
