The Denim Experience with American Eagle

American Eagle Denim Experience

There is nothing more essential in your wardrobe than a good fitting pair of jeans. But there are few things that I hate shopping for more than jeans. Well except swimsuits. Always swimsuits.

It is just so hard to find something that fits right everywhere. I’m short so the length is typically too long. My least favorite area is my waistline and that is hard to camouflage. And I know conventional fashion wisdom says you need designer denim if you want it to hold up well, I just don’t have a budget for that. And don’t even get me started on trying to squirm and wiggle my way into skinny jeans in a tiny poorly lit dressing room.

When I was younger I almost always got my jeans at American Eagle. But as I have aged I stopped even going in their store because I always felt like I would be a grandma in there. Recently I found out about American Eagle’s “Denim Buying Experience” and decided to give them another shot. I am so glad I did! Their clothes aren’t just for the young ones!!!

Demin Experience

Remember back when I shared with you my online shopping experience at Aerie where they used real women to model their bras? It should come as no shock to you that American Eagle provides a similar experience since they are owned by the same parent company. The “Denim Buying Experience” uses real women to model their jeans. There are detailed descriptions, comparisons and size charts of all their different fits which was super helpful when choosing between 12 styles and over 60 washes. If you click on your preferred jean to investigate you can see what height the “model” is and what size she is wearing to get a better idea of your jean. You can also find lots of reviews from other women just like you as well as videos and multiple pictures of each jean. It is completely fool-proof.

Fit Guarantee

And remember how I hate those tiny, poorly lit dressing rooms? Well how about free shipping and free returns? And those designer jean prices? Their denim is totally affordable and American Eagle is constantly having sales making them even more so.

I have been intrigued by the return of high-waisted jeans because who doesn’t want to hide the dreaded muffin top. But I also didn’t want to suddenly find myself in “mom jeans”. I studied the high-rise jeggings, read their ratings and even viewed a gallery of other American Eagle buyers wearing the jeans (If you post a photo of yourself in an AE product or any Aerie product with the hashtag #AEOStyle on Instagram or twitter, your picture will appear on the AE website). I placed my order and am in love. They fit perfectly, still hit below the belly button and totally hold in all the parts I need holded in. I even went back and bought a second pair in a different wash.
