The Challenge Week 5- Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun

1-cor-challenge I just got home from an amazing weekend at Blissdom and I am coming down from a major high. I am glad to be home though and am looking forward to some “quality time” with the hubby. Too much information? When has that ever stopped me before? Anyway, if you are someone I met this weekend heading over here for the first time, head here first so you can get caught up with the rest of us.

Also, last week, I asked you to help out one of my readers with a confidential survey, but I think my directions were totally confusing. So I asked her to let me know what you needed to know to help her out. Here is what she said and thanks in advance for helping her out.

The best way to get to the research survey is to go to yahoo mail and for the ID put in  songofsolomon11@yahoo.com (the password is a1s2d3) Once in the inbox, open the email with the subject line Research Questions. Copy & paste into a new email (right in this email account) and email your response to solomonssong11@yahoo.com. Your email addresses and identities are kept completely private.

Ok, ladies, this week we step it up!! Which I completely realize I said last week, but you guys are pros at this challenge now, so I know you can do it. This challenge is for the rest of the month of February. It is the month were we are supposed to be extra lovey dovey and remember that we love people in case we forgot the rest of the year. So there will still be weekly challenges, but you have to keep this one going for the whole month. Got it?

For this month you are to double your weekly frequency. First, here are the caveats. If you are one of those women who wrote me that you are a 3 time a weeker, you need not double it. You are more than welcome to, God Bless You!!! But you are already rockin this challenge. This one is for those of us with a bit lower numbers. Maybe you can just stand on the sidelines and cheer us on (not literally, that would be weird).

If you aren’t having sex once a week, then start with a baby step. Double your monthly frequency, your yearly frequency, whatever. Just double something. Oddly enough, sex is like a lot of habits. The more you do it, the more of a habit it will become and I find, the more you want to do it. I once heard a speaker say to put a little heart on the calendar every time you have a night of romance. The goal is for a month full of hearts. And your mother won’t suspect anything kinky cause it is February and you can just tell her you really got in the Valentine’s spirit with the calendar this year.

Ok ladies, are you in?

  3. I’m in! This one will be a bit harder…we have three kids under the age of six so lovemaking sessions tend to be l-a-a-a-a-t-e at night…lol…when we are both really tired. We’re working on getting a better time frame :)

  4. Kristen says:

Come on sexy ladies! You can do this. : ))

(I would but then we would literally never leave our room. We’re childless, newlyweds remember!)

Of course, my husband wouldn’t complain. ; )

    Happy Valentine’s, indeed!

To those out there with young children, let me encourage you that this can work! We have three children three and under (we had three under two for a while), and it takes some creativity! I’d say we average 8 times a month (I only know this because we have to chart for natural family planning), so I’ll try to up it. We’ve even set early morning “dates” where we set the alarm to get up before the kids (and we’ve never regretted it although when that alarm first goes off, it’s tempting to hit snooze). We just get up, go to the bathroom, swish some mouthwash, and hop back in bed!

  7. oh boy — my husband is going to have no idea what’s going on. He is going think I am ready for our second :)

  8. Krista says:

This is one I _want_ to do, but when you work different shifts, you get together when you can. Sigh….we are both sad about that. We are not both actually home and awake at the same time except on weekends.

  9. You do amuse me with your humor!

  10. You are quite the marital nookie drill sergeant! :-)

  11. I’m in, of course! The hubby will love this one.

  12. Since reading “Becoming the Woman of His Dreams” my goal has been to never reject my husband in this area of our lives. Since then we have gone from about 3 or 4 times a week to 6 or sometimes even 7. I have to say that since we both know rejection is not ever my goal I have a much happier husband. He is more confident in many areas of his life. I also find it easier to say yes since no is not really an “option” anymore. Just to clarify, we do have an 18 month old running around and we both work outside of the home.

    Anything is possible!

  22. I learned this tip from an 85 year old lady at church (for those of you who are already on the 7 day a week plan…) We were talking about someone else’s sex challenge and how couples were supposed to do it every day for 30 days… Her response: “Just once a day?” Perhaps that’s why her nickname was GO-GO! She clarified – “You better do it while you can!)

There you have it – if you indulge 7 days a week, just do it twice a day!

Oh – and shock and awe? both shocking and awesome (blush)

  25. I’ve had a bit of an “awakening” in the last 9 months or so, and so our LM’g frequency has jumped astronomically over last year’s stats. But I will commit to ratcheting it up even more – and sharing the challenge on my blog. :)

Will you be continuing the challenge past this week, and if not, would it be too complicated to introduce it over at my site once you’ve stopped?

  26. Okay, I’m not really sure how many times… I don’t keep track, but I’m sure that hubby does! I’m going to have to find some stickers to put on my calendar. Hopefully my teenagers won’t ask why there are a bunch of heart on the family calendar! I’ve been rereading Romancing Your Husband by Debra White Smith since I started your challenge… Thanks for the push!

  27. We’ve fallen behind our “usual schedule” due to DaHubby’s full time school and full time work so we’ll try to get back in that neighborhood of frequency.

  28. Deborah says:

Frequency?! Ha! What’s double of nothing?

    Prayin’ for a miracle here.

  29. Kimberly C. says:

    We will try!

  30. I just found your website and am loving this! What a great idea to get ladies takling about such an important subject. This is truly the BEST thing you can do for your marriage! Hubby and I greatly benefited from our ‘marriage and family’ S.S. classes during the early years of our marriage. It’s helped us..um..succeed in our relationship…that’s right, baby, if we doubled my kids would never get fed…

I used to do that when I was on BCP. Good Luck ladies!
