I love me some Pandora. And I love me some iTunes. But I have recently discovered Spotify and it might be the best combination of the two.
As much as I love Pandora sometimes they play songs I don’t like. And sometimes they play artists that make no sense. Don’t get me wrong. Most of the time it is awesome. But sometimes I just want to have more control.
And iTunes is wonderful for control. I have the whole Adele album all in one place and nothing makes me happier than a whole lot of Adele. But iTunes costs money. And my family doesn’t seem to want me spending all our money on music.
So wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could get the music I wanted but could get it for free? I CAN and I DO!!
Spotify lets you create playlists and keep a catalog of music just like iTunes. Except you aren’t downloading the music. It is more like Pandora in that it is playing live. Although you do have to download Spotify. You can also share your tracks and your playlists with your friends.
The downside is it still has ads. But that is because it is free. You can pay to get rid of ads, but I don’t find them to be too annoying. The other side is you can’t find everything you want. Like Spotify is sadly devoid of Adele (thank God I have my iTunes for that). But I have found most of what I want. Even a bunch of my kid’s music to make them a playlist.
I am definitely not giving up my Pandora. And I’m not giving up my iTunes. But I am rounding it out with some Spotify.
Have you tried Spotify?
Nobody paid me a dime to share my newfound love of Spotify. I just thought you might want to try it. This post is linked up to Works For Me Wednesday at We Are That Family.
