Snacking Chips by Green Giant? Who Knew!

If you asked me what I prefer to snack on I would lie and tell you fresh fruit, carrots and hummus, and almonds. Actually it wouldn’t be a total lie. I do enjoy those things. It’s just that prefer might be too strong of a word. Because my preference would be nachos, ice cream and a sleeve of Thin Mints.

Unless I want my waistline to be a circumference equal to my height I have to stick with the first list. So I love it when I find a healthy snack masquerading as a guilty pleasure.

Green Giant Veggie Chips Key Visual 3

Recently I was sent two flavors of new Green Giant™ Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chip – Garden Ranch and Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chip – Barbecue to review. Who knew Green Giant™ made chips? It makes sense they do though, because these chips are made with real veggies!!

My hubby and I are huge sweet potato fans so we ripped into the The Barbecue Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips first. I don’t normally gravitate to barbecue chips so I wasn’t sure what to think. Their sweet potato chips also come in sea salt and I think those might be more my style, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the barbecue. They had a milder barbecue flavor than other barbecue chips so I ended up really enjoying them.

I was also sent a bag of the their Veggie Tortilla Chips in Garden Ranch. My husband and I loved them. Actually I am kidding. My husband didn’t try them because I ATE THE WHOLE BAG. Whoops. So much for that waistline. The tortilla chips also come in a cheddar flavor which I am anxious to try.

tortilla chips

oops…..

I try not to keep chips on hand because I clearly have no self control. But for the occasional treat I will pick these Green Giant™ chips up in the future. They are lower calorie than most other chips and I love that they have some extra veggies in them.

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

  1. Great, this is exactly what I need – another chip option to make me feel like I’m being healthier ( I have that eat the whole bag problem, too). Terra Chips don’t stand a chance around me, neither do PopChips. As far as Healthy, though, I LOVE nuts! WE buy pounds and pounds of them at Trader Joe’s. I’m actually really good and buy the unsalted ones, sometimes even the unroasted depending on the nut. I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for these!
