Organizing for Back To School- Works For Me Wednesday

Thank you to Crocs for sponsoring this blog post. Please click here to learn more about Crocs’ new Back to School line. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Is anyone else in disbelief that the stores seem to think it is “back to school” time? I go back and forth between being in denial and counting down the days. Which one depends completely on how the kiddos are behaving. Today? We were in countdown mode. Ahem.

Anywho, I went to Target a few weeks back to buy some new patio cushions and was shocked that the whole outdoor section was being torn down and backpacks, pencils and folders were being put up in its place. So after I gasped and complained and made some reference to Christmas decorations going up in August, I went home and printed off my kids’ supply list.

I have two kids in school next year. TWO! First may we stop and say, how is this happening? And then can we say, this requires more organization. So I am starting early and I have a plan.

Each week I check out the ads to see what good back to school deals there are. And this week I discovered that Kosher on a Budget has a nice weekly roundup. Now to be clear, I will not be going to 10 different stores every week to save $.75 on a folder. But if a store has a few good low priced deals I will make a run and pick up the things that are low priced.

I have started a bag for each girl with their supplies in it. By the time school starts we should be good to go. Some may argue that getting it all done in one shot is easier and more efficient. But I find that when it takes 10 minutes to decide between the kitty, unicorn or glitter folder it is kind of nice to break up the banging your head against the wall.

Clothes shopping will soon follow. Thankfully Hannah is all set with hand me downs. Cause Lily’s indecisiveness and extreme opinionatedness when it comes to fashion is all I can handle. Thankfully we both love Crocs. She just got one back to school pair, but I will be checking out the rest of their back to school line.

Check out this Back to School video with a few “deals” hidden inside. Click around during the video and see what you find!

I do the same thing, I have my (3!) lists and buy what’s on sale each week. It’s nice that the school gives the lists so early, even though it’s hard to think about how fast the summer has gone!

  2. Oh my, I am already feeling stressed and school hasn’t started. I have to brace myself for the shopping with the children.
