Not a great day

sick-baby.jpg I had a less than stellar day today. First of all, as has become the bad habit around here, I went to bed way too late last night. This has led to a vicious cycle. Go to bed late, fall asleep for nap during day, which in turn makes me wide awake at bed time and the cycle starts all over. Tonight is not looking to be much better seeing that it is midnight and I am up typing.

Went to the gym for a good kick boxing class. I am trying to work out everyday this week in an attempt to lose 10 pounds before my 10 year college reunion this weekend. That is going about as well as can be expected. Got home, showered, started folding laundry and began to feel very nauseous, light headed and shaky. Yes, I know laundry can have that affect, but this was something out of the ordinary. Couldn’t shake awful feeling so I called the ‘rents to come grab the kids as I was sure I was about to vomit. Vomiting never came, but I lovely 2 hour nap did which made me feel better. Still don’t know what that was all about.

When I went to pick up my kids, I noticed Hannah had a fever. Gave her some medicine, but she was whiny and clingy all afternoon. Perfect day for the hubby to have to work late. Fed the kids and put Hannah to bed early. She has woken up about 1000 times and there doesn’t seem to be an end in site. We are on round 2 of Motrin, but the fever persists.

So, I had a brilliant post planned ranting and raving about a Happy Meal toy I got at McDonalds this weekend, but it will have to wait until I am more sane and can write a bit more coherently (you know, the way I usually do…).

Until then, you should know that the baby in the above picture looks freakishly like my brother did as a baby. Also, I have made the interesting observation that WordPress flags the word blog when spellchecking. Isn’t that odd? So those random facts are neither here nor there, but I am tired and fresh out of interesting blogging material.

Hopefully, my blog (and my family) will be back to its usual fabulous self tomorrow. Stay tuned…

  1. I hope you feel better soon. I’m sitting here, coughing and sneezing my snot filled head off. So, I can relate to feeling bad! Let’s hope we both feel better soon!

I hope you get to feeling better. Take heart we all have those days.

  3. I hope you feel better soon. I really need to hear about that Happy Meal toy.

    No really, feel better.

  4. I hope you get to feeling better!
And don’t get me started on those Happy Meal Toys!!
    I’m right with ya.
My girls chose to have the “boy” toy because they would much rather play with cars than half-dressed dolls.

Oh, I think I’ve had that Happy Meal toy. The boy one was also quite offensive when my 2yo unwrapped what looked like a green demon from h e double toothpicks. Here, son, play with a banshee. Enjoy. Not!

  6. I do that stay up too late and then nap thing too. I hate it and have mostly broken myself of napping which was facilitated by my eldest giving up his nap. It is hard to sleep when you have a three year old waking you up all the time. I hope you feel better soon.
