It is the most dreaded time of the year. Time to drag our pasty white, squishy winter bodies into dressing rooms across America and try on swimsuits. I know. Collective groan. But I have good news!! I have found the most glorious swimsuits from Land’s End ready to solve all your swimsuit problems. I can’t wait to share them with you.
I have bought suits from a lot of different places over the years, but I can say with 100% confidence that swimsuits are one thing it is worth paying a bit more for. Cheap swimsuits lose their elasticity very quickly and they last thing you need is a suit that sags or becomes see through. The quality of Land’s End suits is top of the line. They are amazing.
The last few years I have been going with suits that have more and more coverage. Swim skirts, full coverage tops- basically if it was up to me I would wear a muumuu. I felt like this year I needed to find a suit that covered up my problem areas (my squishy belly) without looking so much like a “mom suit”. I am 100% confident I nailed it. A trendy, cute cut and a good balance between appropriate coverage and hip style. I present to you the Beach Club Oval Scoopneck Blouson Tankini Top .
I have clearly just lost my mind and posted a picture of myself in a swimsuit on the internet
These tops are great for those of us who want to camouflage our tummy a bit because they are blousy. You can match the top with any bottom you want. They have tons of great choices which range from tiny to full coverage. I thought I would highlight some of my other favorite suits based on what your problem area is.
Squishy Tummy: The key to camouflaging a tummy is to look for ruching or ruffles. Or find a suit with some built in shaping. Black is always a slimming color, but don’t be afraid of bright colors.
Enhance Bust: Perhaps you lost all your tatas to nursing, or you just need a little boost. Look for suits with underwires, padded tops and gathered details at the bustline.
Hiding Butt and Thighs: Swim skirts are perfect for this, and can still be really stylish if done right. You want to keep your swim skirt kind of short so you don’t look matronly.
What do you think? What is your swimsuit problem area?
