Frugal Friday- ShopAtHome.com (plus a GIVEAWAY!!)

Frugal-Friday-2-736462 It has been awhile since I have done a Frugal Friday, but make no mistake I am always looking for a good deal. I had read a lot about people using cash back sites for online shopping, but although I do a lot of online shopping, I just never remembered to use any of them. But then ShopAtHome.com recently contacted me with a shopping challenge. Um, I’m sorry….did someone just CHALLENGE ME TO SHOP? Do you think it is possible for me to turn this into some sort of career?

I was given a $50 Target giftcard (shopping challenge AND Target, SQUEE!!) to see how far I could make it go using ShopAtHome.com. Their site offers coupon codes, free shipping codes as well as cash back on your purchases. It is super easy to navigate and find what you are looking for using the search function. Once you find the store you want, you simply click through the ShopAtHome.com link and begin shopping. Your cash back is credited to your account and will be cashed out once you hit $20.

In an effort to reign in the clutter monster that is constantly taking over our house, I purchased this ottoman:

imageI think it will also double as a “holy crap people are coming over and the house is a mess and I need someplace to pitch all this stuff” ottoman. Really, Target should consider calling it that. Cause I bet 90% of people are using it in that capacity.

I am so excited about the deal I got!! Normally the ottoman sells for $79.99, but it was on sale for $59. So right off the bat I have saved 26%. Then I got free shipping when I spend $50 on certain home decor. I can’t seem to figure out how much that saved me, but it weighs 33.5 pounds so I have to believe I saved a bundle. When I checked out, Target told me I had saved 34% so we will go with that. PLUS I get 5% back from ShopAtHome.com just for shopping. HOLLA!!

Do you want to take a shopping challenge? That is right, I have a $50 Target giftcard for you to give ShopAtHome.com a try. And I would like to talk a little smack and say that I don’t think you can beat my savings. Well, I guess you could shop clearance, but that seems unfair. So leave me a comment telling me why you need a Target giftcard and we will have a little throw down. Of course, the winner of the giftcard will be chosen at random, but the winner of the shop o’ thon will get bragging rights. Let’s see what you frugalistas got.

Winner will be chosen at random on Wed. Oct, 28th. Good luck!!

Disclosure: I was provided with a $50 Target giftcard in order to facilitate my review of ShopAtHome.com. The ability to shop like a rock star AND all opinions are mine.

  3. Oh yes! I could never have enough baby products (i.e. diapers, wipes, etc.) I could totally go for a gift card to Target! :-)

  4. Because Christmas is coming. And I have 2 kids. And I love Target.

  5. You’re on chica! Pulling out my gloves…..
At the top of my list is anything organizational, I’ll know it when I see it.

  6. I really shouldn’t be allowed to try for any more of your giveaways, but your blog makes me lucky or something. ;) I’ve never tried Shop At Home, but I use ebates occasionally (and have been disappointed with their customer service when they “goofed” on one of my rebates).

  8. Shop at Home is new to me, but I don’t know, I am pretty darned savvy when it comes to saving a buck or two. Considering there are less than 10 weeks left ’til Christmas (did I just make everyone on the internet cringe?) I think it’s pretty safe to say that all my shopping is revolving around gifts these days.

  9. As a single Mom with two lil fartblossoms, I know how to save and I could really use a Target card to prove that!

    Thank you!

  11. Jessie C. says:

I like Shopathome.com a lot, their cash rebate offer are better on most stores among all other competitors. Without shopping on clearance, I can always get the greatest deal based on my savvy shopping skills. (hunting down all coupons, codes and clearly know the bottom line)

  12. I am jealous of your shopping skilz AND that ottoman! It would go great with the lovely bookcase I have (also from Target), but not so much with my ghetto free couches… doh! Also, I wonder how well it would hold up to a teething baby… I’m going to be in need of some new furniture before he’s done!

  13. We have a new baby so I could use it to buy baby stuff. Or with Christmas coming up I could use it to buy someone’s gift.

  14. Hmmm..I could start Christmas shopping…..or spend it on myself- I in desparate need of new jammies (something not nursing friendly!) and it is so hard to spend money on something like that!

BECAUSE I AM POOR!!! hahaha…okay, I’m not. But, a gift card to Target {pronounced with a french accent of course…lol} would come in handy. They always have great stocking stuffers. And Mama needs some new Christmas ornaments for the tree. Sounds good to me. ;)

  19. cindy says:

i’m seriously frugal but even with all of my frugaliciousness, i am still trying to get our finances back in order after adopting two kids…the littlest with only 24 hours notice. i could use that give card in ways that just get us some stuff we need every day.

  20. We just gutted our family room and kitchen! I would love to have that money to find some great deals. I could use decorations, kitchen organizers, the possibilites are endless at target!

  21. Abbey says:

  22. So. I’ve pretty much recovered my pre-baby weight, but… let’s just say I have NOT recovered my pre-baby shape. Need. New. Clothes.

  25. I adore target sooo much, and christmas is coming around. And, it’s always good to save money and get the best deals, for something you want! And, I always seem to be able to catch a great deal, if you watch the clearance for something you want. I know if I got the gift card, I could probably do some magic, and get a great deal on some gifts for the little one’s from ‘santa’.

  26. I have that ottoman. It stores my scrapbooks. You know, so that in case my house catches on fire, I can lug the whole thing out the door instead of gathering them up one by one.

    Yes, I’m serious.

I met some folks from Shop At Home at Savvy Blogging and have been meaning to check them out every since. Love hearing about your experience with them!
