Frugal Friday- Negotiate Your Head Off

frugal-friday-2-736462  First, I think we should all ask ourselves how much time should one spend dealing with a voice recognition operator saying “customer service” over and over before any sort of deal is no longer worth it. But that aside, have you contacted your utilities lately and asked them to give you a better offer? Cause chances are they will in order to keep your business.

I have been putting off messing with my cable and phone companies because I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of changing anything. Well guess what, I didn’t have to. I just had to tell them them I was thinking about it. Which I was. So it isn’t lying. Cause that would be wrong. And although my phone service couldn’t quite match the cable services offer of phone service (got that?) it was close enough to warrant not dealing with the hassle of changing things over. And I am saving $35 a month. Which is over $400 a year. And that ain’t nothing to shake a stick at.

  1. Nothing like battling customer “service” to ruin your day.

  3. We have very few bills, only phone and internet, but we have negotiated both of those down. We have also never paid a set up fee or activation fee. It pays to stay on hold for a while if you get a better deal!
