Frugal Friday- Cheap Tweets

frugalfriday  To say I love Twitteris an understatement. To say I’m addicted to Twitter might be slightly more accurate. Yeah, let’s just say I tweet a lot. So when two things that I love come together to form a partnership I am ecstatic!! Frugality and Twitter. They go together like peas and carrots. Like Batman and Robin. Like a pan of Rice Krispy treats and my pregnant belly.

Cheap Tweets is a site that allows you to search Twitter posts for good deals. Lots of people post internet deals they know about on Twitter. But if you don’t follow that person you might never know. So let’s say you need some new Gap jeans, but want to see if there are any coupon codes. Put Gap coupon codes in the search line and suddenly you are linked to tweets with a 20% coupon code.

The downside? I typed in Gap jeans and read a bunch of tweets about people loving their Gap jeans. Which is barely Twitter worthy. I mean who doesn’t love them? And sometimes when you search for deals you have to sift through a few spammer Twitterers. But for the most part I have found really good results. I look at it as another tool to find good deals on the internet.

  1. Hi! I just wanted to comment because I have been KILLING the Rice Krispie treats since I’ve been pregnant too! I’ve always liked them…but serioulsy I think we’ve gone through 4 FAMILY SIZE boxes of Krispies since June!!! Those things are awesome!!!

  2. I signed up for Twitter, but mostly so I could bother politicians and sign up for contests and get an extra entry. I just don’t get it – it’s a jumbled mess and 95% of what I read is boring – like reading FaceBook status updates from people I don’t know. If YOU tell me you ate a pan of rice krispies, that’s funny. If @buggyboo ate a pan, why do I care? Probably a good thing – I don’t really need any more quality time with my new laptop..

  3. Thanks for sharing. I wish I could jump on the whole Twitter bandwagon wholeheartedly, I really do… But something keeps pushing me away. I think its the spam. And the possibility of constant interruptions. But I am a half-hearted Twitterer so I will be checking this out!

  4. What a great tip! I tweet a bit, but need to get more involved. That’s about like saying I need to eat more and excersize less: all good for you.
