Five Best Dressed at the Oscars 2014

I know we talk fashion every week on Friday, but it is THE OSCARS! Waiting until Friday is just too long. So let’s discuss shall we:

Lupita2

Her dress was just perfection. The color, the cut, the jewels in her hair. But her speech when she won her Oscar reminded us again that beauty is more important on the inside. She is a new American sweetheart for sure.

I am a firm believer in the navy dress at the Oscars. It stands out so much better than black and in a sea of nudes this year, navy just looks classy and regal. Sandra nails it in the hair department as well. Her side swept curls are straight up glamour. She has been doing everything right on the red carpet for a few years.

I think this might be my favorite. I normally don’t love the plunging neckline (even though I have highlighted two so far), but this dress is such a gorgeous throwback. And I am honestly not a huge Kate Hudson fan but I feel like when she does it right she REALLY does it right. This is one of those nights.

emma watson2

Emma Watson is my new red carpet favorite. She somehow manages to choose looks that are slightly unexpected but always end up on my favorite list. And she always finds a way to be sexy without being overtly so. Of course she will always be Hermoine to me, but isn’t she just fabulous??

I know a lot of people love her, but I typically don’t jive with her fashion. And dressing a baby bump in couture fashion isn’t always easy. But I absolutely love this look. It kind of looks like she wrapped a silk sheet around herself with bed hair, but doesn’t it just work? Love it!

Who were your favorites at the Oscars?

Great picks! I also liked Jennifer Lawrence’s simple gown.

  2. Christina says:

Agreed! But I loved Jennifer Lawrence in the simple red gown too! The navy tho….

    • I am a HUGE JLaw fan but I thought she looked too old last night. Her hair reminded me of Princess Diana circa 1980 and I wanted her dress to be more fun. It wasn’t awful or anything. Just didn’t wow me.

  3. I think my favorites were Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lawrence, Hermione, and Kristen Chenoweth. I liked Amy Adams’s dark blue, too.

  4. Emma Watson’s dress was my favorite. With Jennifer Garner a close second. I think it was a good year for dresses. I enjoyed seeing most of them.
