hello-kitty.jpg Why Hello Kitty? Because she is so stinkin’ cute!

It is 11 am on Saturday and I have done absolutely nothing. How is that possible with a husband and 2 kids to take care of you ask? I have yet to see them. The hubby and I went to a baseball game (which I won courtesy of a contest tip from my wonderful friend Big Binder) and my parents decided just to keep the kids overnight since we would be getting back past their bedtime. This is such a good week for that to happen, cause Hannah has been waking up for hours every night with “molars coming in” screams. I have gotten very little quality sleep. Lest you think I am a cruel daughter, I did warn my parents to this fact before they volunteered (and armed them with Motrin).

So I slept uninterrupted from 11 until 9. Yes, 10 glorious hours of sleep. Since then, my hubby has left to walk down to my parent’s house to get the girls and then take them for a long walk. In that 2 hours I have been reading blogs, doing online puzzles and researching concrete floors. Things I have not been doing:

  1. Showering
  2. Eating breakfast
  3. Changing out of my pajamas
  4. Cleaning my house
  5. Exercising
  6. Using my brain or body in any remotely productive fashion.

This is both wonderful and a bit sad all at the same time. I think I will blame my PMS (or DMS as the case may be) and not feel a bit guilty!

Comments

  1. Good for you!! Sounds like a perfect Saturday morning to me. I personally have both changed my clothes and eaten breakfast. However, I have not cleaned or done much of anything else productive. My kitty is inspiring me to rest. Besides, Andy is busy downstairs recording…and it’s never as fun to do housework when you can’t make someone else help you out, right!?

  2. You’re allowed to make that comment about Hello Kitty to yourself as long as you promise to never push it on your significant other ;)

  3. I was supposed to have a few mornings of such bliss this weekend, however my in-laws had a bad storm down in their area and are still without power. So, no sleepy mornings for me. I’m glad someone is enjoying it though!

  4. Eew! I had no idea when I called you this morning you hadn’t even showered yet. Gross. Oh wait, it is 11 PM and I haven’t even showered yet. Never mind.

  5. I think that it’s funny that you were child free overnight and very excited about the amount of sleep that you got. Oh how things change after children! I can already here the begging and pleading!

  6. cleaver mama says:

I want to borrow your kiddie hotel! How do I make reservations for 2?

  7. Oh man. I wanna be YOU!! That sounds amazing. I’ve been chasing sleep for so, so long…
I’m glad you got some mom time!
