I know many of you are already back to school, but while your children are all pencils, books and homework, we are frolicking in the sun at Universal Orlando. But before we left I took my two favorite fashionistas shopping for some more back to school clothes at JCPenney. We had ridiculous amounts of fun and the girls were so pleased with their purchases. I can’t wait to show you what we got!
Let’s start with Hannah. As the second girl in the family she is really deprived of a lot of shopping for new clothes because she gets a ton of hand my downs. So I was thrilled to include her in this shopping spree.
I love that JCPenny’s partners with the hottest brands around to bring you exclusive collections at affordable prices. This dress is from their Joe Fresh Collection and is totally adorable. It would be perfect with ballet flats in the fall and boots in the winter. You can’t tell very well from this picture, but the leggings are royal blue with navy polka dots.
This outfit is also from Joe Fresh and taps in the printed jeans trend. My petite girl had a little bit of trouble with the length, but I thought they looked cute rolled up.
What I love about this look is that it can truly transition in between all seasons of the school year. Start with just the dress. Add leggings as it gets cooler. Then and a cardigan over or a long sleeve tee underneath for the colder months. This was probably my favorite look for her. Plus I love that the brand is Total Girl and this is called their “Skater Dress”.
Hannah really prefers to live in skirts and dresses but can occasionally be talked into colored denim. These pants were so soft I desperately wanted them to come in my size. They seemed to be somewhere between denim and corduroy. And “dressy” sweatshirts are a HUGE trend this fall. This lace one was super girly.
Lily has kind of determined that her style is a lot of black and white. I love her in color, but I must say the girl has good taste. Black and white is totally in right now. This is another one of the Joe Fresh colorblock dresses but it looks a lot different in black and white and without leggings.
Tunics are one of my favorite looks with leggings. This is a sheer tunic with a tank underneath and it is a perfect transitional piece as the weather gets cooler. Start it with ballet flats and later switch to boots.
Top and Leggings
This is another look that is somewhere between a tunic and a dress. I thought it was a little too short to be worn alone so I paired it with leggings. You could throw a cardigan over top (maybe in a bright color) to transition it to winter.
I saved the best for last. It isn’t often that you get EXTREMELY jealous of your daughter’s wardrobe but this dress is spot on for so many trends I desperately wish it came in my size. Leather and lace are both really hot right now as well as feminine dresses (thank you Taylor Swift). This combines it all in a really tasteful and age appropriate ways.
We also ended up picking up a pair of awesome brown boots and an adorable backpack for Hannah and Lily respectively. I am having so much fun shopping with my two girls I almost don’t mind that they are getting all these adorable outfits instead of me. Almost….
