I began blogging at The Diaper Diaries back in June of 2007 (the stone age of blogging). I started blogging as a place to detail my journey through motherhood and share helpful tips and products that I use. In March 2013, Just Jilly was launched as a way to continue my story in a path more relevant to my life.
I have continued through the years to blog about me, my family and my faith. I try to find the humor in life because life is too short not to laugh a lot. My favorite thing that people tell me is that when they read my blog it feels like they are talking to me. A little bit rambly, a little bit funny, a little bit deep, always pretty real.
I am a stay at home mom to 3 beautiful children. “Lily” is 8 and “Hannah” is 6 and “Silas” is 3. I’ve been married 12 fabulous years to a wonderful husband and father who graciously puts up with the amount of time I spend on the computer. In exchange, I put up with his fanatical love of hockey, which is the longest sports season on the planet.
I love being home with my kids and wouldn’t have it any other way, but I am paying off an awful lot of grad school loans for this privilege. Also my life often feels like “Groundhog Day.” Laundry, dishes, “stop hitting your sister”….lather, rinse, repeat.
I love a good book, a great song and an excellent glass of wine (see Groundhog Day, above). I also confess I watch too much TV and spend way too much time on the internet blogging, pinteresting, facebooking, twittering and checking People.com for the latest trashy gossip (I know. Shameful).
I love partnering with companies on my blog and in social media. I have been a brand ambassador for Skype, Toyota, Huggies, Frigidaire, Infantino, Born Free and many more. I have also written for the Born Free, Mom Central and Grand Rapids Tourism Bureau corporate websites.
